Recording with the BBC SSO On Saturday 29th October 2011 we took part in a concert with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra which was recorded for BBC Radio 3's "Hear and Now". We sang in Cornelius Cardew's "The Great Learning" in the Old Fruitmarket. Choir twinning In March 2011 we had a wonderful weekend exchange visit to Amersfoort in the Netherlands where we joined forces with the St Joris Kamerkoor (translated site) (St George Chamber Choir) for rehearsals and two concerts. Here is a video of us performing together in the St. Catharinakathedral, Utrecht:
Recording and editing: Ko Smidt, Fresco Records, The Netherlands http://frescorecords.nl A few weeks later, in early May, we welcomed our Dutch friends to Scotland for the return visit. We had another great weekend of fun and performances in Edinburgh and Glasgow. We introduced them to Haggis, neeps and tatties and ceilidh dancing and had a great time. We look forward to future exchanges. Glasgow Chamber Choir now on Twitter! We now have a Twitter account

Change of Music Director (Summer 2005) Glasgow Chamber Choir is sorry to announce the departure of Andrew Griffiths as Music Director after only one season. We would like to thank him for all that he has contributed to the choir in the last year and we wish him well in his new job which has taken him away from Glasgow to London. We are, however, delighted to announce the appointment of Michael Bawtree as our new Music Director and look forward to working with him.

On Friday 18th March, we performed in an unusual venue, the Glasgow Subway, to raise money for the choir and for Research Into Eating Disorders (Charity Number 284286). The Evening Times published an article about it the night before and here are some photos (click on a thumbnail to get the larger photo in a new window):
