It is great to hear how former members are getting on and in particular what they are doing musically (we do know that GCC isn't the only choir in the universe!) so here is some information which has been passed our way. If you used to sing with the choir then we would love to hear where you are and what you are doing now and we promise only to put up information with your permission.

Mark Evans

Jennie Gardner

Jennie left at the end of the 2003-4 season after six years in the choir and we wish her all the best in her new job at the other side of the country.

Jennie’s choral career began when she joined the choir of St Saviour’s church, Bridge of Allan at the age of eleven. After a break for A levels, University and career, Jennie rediscovered singing in her mid twenties and joined the Chamber Choir soon after. Jennie is an arts marketer by profession and is a keen hill-walker amongst other things.

Lynsey Joss

Lynsey studied music at the RSAMD and has sung with GCC for just over two years. A highlight of her time with the choir was singing in the soprano duet "De torrente in via bibet" in Handel's Dixit Dominus.

Kristina (Tina) Roe

[No photo - yet!]

Tina was the first former member to email us:

"I was a member (Soprano) of the Chamber Choir between 1997-2000 whilst I was at Glasgow University. Since then I have sung with the Choir of Jesus College Cambridge and currently I am in the Lichfield Cathedral Chamber Choir, The Rigware Cantamus and every summer with Musica Deo Sacra at Tewkesbury Abbey."

Hilde McKenna

Gordon Smith

Gordon was the co-founder of the choir and was administrator for 10 of the 11 years he sang with us before taking some time out. He was also the designer of many of our (we think) excellent posters down the years. He isn't always as happy looking as this ;-)

Clyde "High Flyer" Wallbanks

Clyde has swapped singing in GCC for singing to his daughters in the bath to let Mum get to choir practise. What a 90s man (too bad it is not the 90s any more!)

David Williams

When David took over as Administrator of the choir the webteam was very concerned because we had been asking him for a biography for this page since around the time the Romans left Britain (they've gone?). We warned him that we would write something ourselves, possibly after a glass of wine or two but he didn't listen hence this spiel. A job following his PhD has unfortunately taken him away from Glasgow.
